Live edge wood

Live edge refers to the unusual practise of leaving the outside edge of the tree as part of the design or furniture. We do this alot even though it takes extra work at the mill, in the kiln, and in the shop.  Not all live edges look good.  Trees get beat up and it shows on the edges most.  Many people like seeing the history of a tree as shown in its quirks and flaws.  Here are some examples of live edge in furniture:
