This chest design is the culmination of lots of input, research and aesthetics. It is also one of the best examples of the woodworkers art. Showcasing exposed dovetails, figured woods, box joints, miters, and custom inlays. Intarsia is like marquetry, but in 3D. You can feel the individual pieces in the design. Often these are given as gifts to the newly married or to young children. 3 similar chest made of different woods. Front to back, Maple, Walnut, Oak, These chests are approximately 18″ x 18″ x 42″. The hardware is all brass. They sit up off the floor 2 1/2″. Have two removable trays. The insides have Aromatic cedar wood. And we can do an upholstered top with your fabric. They can be almost any wood or combination of wood. With or without custom inlay. We also have standard inlays. Chests run $1600 to $2400. Specialty woods at market. Inlays cost $1200 to $1600+.
